    A:

Yes, but it depends on the ship and your cabin type. You will be able to charge multiple devices, but the convenience and number of readily available outlets will vary.

On our modern ships, such as the newer Century series or Victoria cruises, most cabins have a combination of international 220V (European two-pin round) and 110V (North American flat-pin) outlets. Typically, you will find at least two outlets at the main desk/vanity area. In upgraded suites and on the newest vessels, you may find additional USB ports integrated into bedside lamps or desks, making simultaneous charging very straightforward. In standard cabins on older ships, the outlet number might be more limited, often just one or two total, which can require some planning if you have a camera, phone, and perhaps a tablet or power bank.

It is a very common situation, and our housekeeping team is accustomed to guests needing to charge multiple electronics. The onboard voltage is stable, but it's important to note that all outlets are two-pin only (no grounding pin). High-wattage appliances like hair dryers are provided, so you should not need to bring your own. The most significant limitation is often the physical space around the single outlet panel, not the ship's electrical capacity to handle your small devices.

    > Director's Note: For safety and compliance with maritime regulations, do not bring a surge-protected power strip. These are fire hazards on ships. Instead, bring a simple, non-surge-protected multi-port USB charger or a small, non-surge European-style outlet adapter with multiple USB ports. This one item will solve nearly all your charging needs by turning one outlet into several USB ports.

My practical advice is to pack a multi-port USB charger (with at least two ports) and the appropriate non-surge plug adapter for the European-style outlet. This ensures you can charge your phone and camera from a single source efficiently. Also, consider bringing a fully charged power bank for excursions. Once you are on board, your cabin attendant can also advise if there are any hidden outlets (sometimes behind the bed or under the desk) that you might have missed.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!
